First Art Gallery Hanging

I was invited to hang some art on the community art wall in the McKenzie Towne Hall (40 Mckenzie Towne Blvd S.E.).  I thought this would be a good opportunity to launch some of my paintings instead of the photography. So if you are interested in seeing them live and in person, you can stop by and ask to see the art wall. If the door is closed, just ring the doorbell or knock - they are happy to let visitors in to see it!  And they are open until 9 every day, except Sunday which is 6.

 So far - I have had absolutely RAVE reviews, so I couldn't be more pleased. This is a piece that I created just for this show. She is called "Rodeo" and it is my largest painting to date at 20"x40".

Tiffany

Tiffany came in to the studio last week like a breath of fresh air.  We probably spent as much time talking as we did "working" because we had a lot in common.  Which always makes for an interesting and good shoot because connection is so much of the process!  Thanks for choosing me for your headshots Tiffany - can't wait to see where it takes you!

I'm complicating my online presence - hahahahahaha. I thought I would add a Flickr photostream just to have a place to have all my art work in one place. No guarantees about keepign it up, but for now I have really good intentions!

 This is another piece in my "Pretty Girls" series.  I am entranced with these colours together-the blues and greens all layered together with some vintage text...swoon.. It is mixed media finished with encaustic.  Don't you just love the smell of beeswax?  It is such a comfort smell to me-I could paint with it all day.
