Scarlett

Well I have been terribly remiss with my posting! I shot these lovely images of Miss Scarlett in January and am JUST getting around to posting them now.  One of the qualities I love about babies is their luminescent skin. Scarlett literally seems to glow.  She has such a lovely complexion and her gorgeous blue eyes....I could go on and on. But really, she has everything that is just perfect about babies. The Mustard Seed

A couple of years ago, I got a chance to work on the capital campaign to raise money for a new tower for the Mustard Seed.  It was an incredible and humbling project; I met the most incredible people on every side. This piece was a composite that we created before some changes had to be made to the design.  I still love it and realized that I hadn't had a chance to share it before. xoxo

Jersey Box

A good friend of mine asked me to work on the SWEETEST project. 

Her husband shoots competitively and a while ago, he accomplished an almost perfect score - 98/100.

It was commemorated with a jersey - the 2 on the sleeves are for the 2 targets that he missed. So just the jersey in the box would have been cool, but we took it further and put in all the paraphernalia that goes along with it - shells, targets (whole and broken) and some awesome pictures showing him in action and his gun. 

I love working on projects like this - they are always so interesting.

Jen and Mark

There is something so beautiful about a couple in love.  That you can see are together, completely.  It's in the looks, the little touches and the kind words.  Jen and Mark are like this.  So wonderful to see together.  It can't help but renew any flagging faith you may have about life, the universe, love. D - "I need to find a new painting for my bathroom. Since I painted it Jalapeno, the old one doesn't go."
Me - "Ok - what are you thinking?"
D - "Oh, something with black in it."
Me - "I'll make you one...."  Forgetting that I have been purely in photography mode for the last month and haven't even picked up a brush.  Tsk tsk tsk.  Turns out that it was just the kick start that I needed.  Here is the piece that evolved over the next 10 hours - so different than what I had originally set out to create.  And I completely love it. That is one of the things that I never get over - the process of creation for me is so organic.  I can't pre-plan something because my process evolves through flow.  And when I sit in that flow and really listen to my muse, wonderful things transpire.  There are so many personal (to him) elements in this that came as sparks of light in the process.  Trust.  Flow.  Joy.

 I so love when a client calls and says "I want to do some super cool edgy shots with some leather and my motorcycle...".  Those words make me so happy! It means that I get to contemplate grungy locations, lots of contrast and come up with something different.  Joy!  Here are the results of our shoot a couple of weeks ago.
